One of the most important aspects of your day is your wedding photography, capturing the moments, emotions, and memories you’ll cherish forever. This FAQ guide answers common questions, outlines client responsibilities before the wedding day, and explains how unexpected situations are handled so your photography experience is seamless, stress-free, and thoughtfully planned.
1. What Should I Expect From a Wedding Photographer?
As a wedding photographer, I am responsible for capturing the full story of your day—from the quiet moments while getting ready to the energy of the reception and everything in between. At Lindsay Stayton Photography, I focus on natural, timeless, and meaningful photography, creating images that feel authentic and true to who you are.
Your photographer should:
Arrive on time (if not early to set up) and be fully prepared
Understand your wedding itinerary

By having a final meeting and filling out the Advance Final Meeting document I send, this should all be handled

The vendors and I all work behind the scenes to ensure your day is seamless and to avoid asking you all the questions
Deliver high-quality, professionally edited images
Knowing what to expect helps you feel confident that your wedding memories are in experienced hands.

3. Why Is a Group Photo List So Important?
Family and group portraits often happen within a limited time window. And is typically the most stressful part of the day. Having a clear list allows me to move efficiently and ensures everyone important to you is included.
Helpful tips:
Group similar family members together
Use the inverted triangle list, startign with the largest group, kids and elderly
If your dress has a train, try to keep you in all of the photos so we don’t have to replace the dress nicely every other photo
Order the list logically… think of who needs to help with other areas, will the kiddos get cranky easily, grandma needs to use the restroom often? Just a few simple examples.
Assign a family member or wedding party member to help gather people. Although I will do a lot, it is nice to have someone who will be there to assist and get people ready for the next group. Keep ‘er movin.
This preparation helps keep your timeline on track and minimizes stress.
4. What Wedding Day Moments Should I Make Sure Are Captured?
Some of the most commonly requested moments include:
Getting ready details

Ceremony highlights (vows, rings, first kiss)
